Paying it Forward
Twenty years of looking at innovation in the legal sector. We started when no one really thought lawyers could or should innovate. Oxymoron was the most common word we heard in response to our idea of Innovative Lawyers. But here we are two decades on. Stronger than ever, with innovation embedded in the DNA of most thriving legal organisations. But, and here's the but. With all the changes we see now, in the business backdrop, the real landing of transformative artificial intelligence, a younger generation that is motivated differently, can we look to the past to see the future?
Thank you to everyone who attended the Innovative Lawyers Summit 2025. It was great to unite so many of the industry, hear from such a wide range of experts and have such informative and valuable discussions around guiding business in a new global age.
How is This Year Different?
The rule of law is under continued attack, business markets are more volatile than ever, and the definition of a ‘lawyer’ in the age of AI is a contested one. It's more important than ever to join your peers and learn how the industry is adapting to overcome the challenges being faced today.
To celebrate the Innovative Lawyers 20th anniversary, the summit took a fresh approach this year. Throughout the day, we brought together the industry’s most distinguished leaders, who pooled the most pertinent lessons learnt over the past two decades, alongside a handful of young, next-generation interlocutors who challenged these ideas and brought fresh perspectives to the table in a Socratic-style debate.
The day concluded with a gala reception, featuring food, drinks, and celebrations as we announced the top 20 most innovative law firms and general counsels and released the FT special report. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and network with peers in a more relaxed setting.
